Autism
At Sound Bites we believe in supporting neurodivergent people to love and feel confident in who they are, exploring their neurodivergent identity, communication styles, social connection and self-advocacy.
Executive functioning skills help us plan, organise, start and finish tasks, manage time, shift attention and regulate emotions. Many autistic adults experience executive functioning differences that can affect daily life at home, study, work and in the community, even when their strengths are significant. This might look like difficulty getting started, staying on track, managing overwhelm, or juggling multiple responsibilities and expectations.
At Sound Bites Therapy Services, we work collaboratively with autistic adults to understand their goals, strengths, sensory needs and support systems. Therapy is practical, respectful and neurodiversity-affirming. We might explore routines, visual supports, breaking tasks into manageable steps, planning tools, communication strategies and environmental adjustments that reduce cognitive load.
We can also work with families, employers, support workers and other professionals to create consistent, supportive approaches. Our aim is to build sustainable strategies that support autonomy, reduce stress and make everyday tasks more achievable, so autistic adults can participate in the activities that matter most to them.
